Student Learning Outcomes

Course Name: Video for Photographers
Course Number: PHOT 26
Course Objectives:
  • Students that complete PHOT 26 will be able to apply use of still images, frame rates and editing software to create stop-motion video.
  • Students that complete PHOT 26 will be able use DSLR cameras, lenses, and movement to produce videos that communicate a concept.
  • Students completing Photography Courses will know the core skills of f/stop control. What the f/stops are, i.e. 1.4,2,2.8,4,5.6,8,11,16,22, 33 and what they do, i.e. control motion and depth of field
  • Students that complete PHOT 26 will be able to use DSLR cameras, preproduction, production and post-production skills to create short commercial videos.
  • Students that complete PHOT 26 will be able to apply continuous lighting techniques to create product advertising videos.
  • Students that complete PHOT 26 will be able to use editing software to create commercial videos with title sequences and sound.
  • Students completing Photography Courses will know the core skills of shutter control. What the shutter speeds are, i.e. 1000,500,250,125,60,30,15,8,4, 2, 1 and what they do, i.e. control exposure and motion.
